Thanks again for a very professional writeup.
Buying links have 2 aspects one is to buy links to enhance the search engine visibility which may be links on good PR pages etc. The others are where you intend to get some good direct traffic from the links.
I am new to all this and have been learning new things each day... Your post gave me a good insight and was my lesson for the day...
